VIVIENNE TAM SS13

NYC  September 17, 2012

Vivienne Tam has parlayed the fusion of Asian and Western styles into a successful career as a fashion designer, creating stretchy gowns for celebrities like Julia Roberts. In 1982, Ms. Tam moved to New York. She sold her first designs out of a duffel bag to Henri Bendel and a handful of Manhattan boutiques. Through her innovative explorations of color, texture and cut, Vivienne offers women inspiration. Constantly searching for new themes in Chinese art, history and culture, Vivienne explores sources that range from Ming dynasty bird and flower painting to Chinese contemporary art. Her SS13 collection was an acute study in this training.
