The Private Park at the Hudson Hotel was the setting for LaQuan Smiths’ SS13 collection titled: BEAU JARDIN. Modern and feminine the presentation was an acute reflection of Mr. Smiths recent travels to destinations in the Caribbean and western Africa. Smith was inspired by the landscaping and colors of the countries he visited. “This collection is like a rebirth for me. I have traveled to Botswana, Lagos, the British Virgin Islands and Jamaica. I am inspired by the people I meet. The food and the scenery.” States the designer. ” When it comes to women I understand their essence and my designs allow her to express that inner beauty.” LaQuans’ designs have been worn by the likes of LADY GAGA, RIHANNA, BEYONCE, JENNIFER LOPEZ, DAKOTA FANNING, COURTNEY LOVE, TYRA BANKS, and AMBER ROSE to name a few.
