DIOR SS13

PARIS  September 28, 2012

Raf Simons the new creative director for the house of DIOR has layed out his blueprint  for DIOR SS13. Mr. Simon’s direction could be seen in every detail. For the clothes he continued his lines from his Couture show in July. Sharply tailored pantsuits, bustiers in  mint green and pale pink with chic black shorts. Strapless cocktail dresses with a sheer, embroidered top layer. His biggest statement:  DIOR’S tailoring. There was a single breasted white Bar Jacket with a gentle  flare hem. You were never sure if it was indeed a jacket or a mini coat dress.

Mr. Simons played with some of Dior’s famous silhouettes: the a-line and h-line, but the the impression was a show that was sharply new and minimal. He states. “I find it super challenging to make it sexual, more fun, more graphic and playful. To me, the word is freedom. That is the word.”
