NEW YORK, Oct 15, 2012/ — Unveiled last September during New York Fashion Week, the Spring 2013 Hervé Léger by Max Azria depicts a story of the sultry South through handcrafted embroidery, patchwork and appliqué fused with signature couture techniques.
Inspired by the remarkable women of Gee’s Bend, Alabama, and their artful quilt making, the collection is a portrayal of feminine strength.
A neutral palette of whisper whites, nutmeg and pale greys is offset by flashes of steel blues, while intricate chain weaving and color blocking create graphic shapes. Python and leather ankle boots, belts and harnesses accentuate the female form.
