Istanbul is getting ready for a fashion celebration to be enjoyed by the whole city with Istanbul Fashion Days, where Turkish fashion designers and ready-to-wear brands will be gathered under one roof for the first time. The event will take place form Augut 26 to August 30.
Istanbul Fashion Days, a first in Turkey, with the cooperation of ITKIB and Fashion Designers Association (MTD) has been introduced to the press in a press conference.
In his opening speech, Hikmet Tanr?verd, Chairman of the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters Association (IHKIB) pointed out that they have started a new era for the sector in Turkey, and that Istanbul Fashion Dayswill be contributing to the Turkish economy while accelerating the fashion sector.
Fashion Designers Association (MTD) President Bahar Korçan stated that; “we have been working voluntarily for the development of this sector for the last 24 years yet the Turkish fashion sector, which feeds from the cultural riches of this country, needs unity”.
Istanbul Fashion Days will mainly take place at the Ta?k??la Campus of Istanbul Technical University.
While Istanbul Fashion Lab, a runway show and trade show organization of selected Turkish leading fashion designers will be displaying their collections to the world under the roof of Istanbul Fashion Days; Brandist, will be the fashion show and trade showplatform for the brands. ITKIB’s Young Fashion Designers Contest, which presents an important platform to young fashion designers and enables their entry into the field, will continue under the body of IFD this year with a new name, Koza.
Turkey will now have a mark in the world fashion calendar with Istanbul Fashion Days, which has been set up to provide information from Turkey to the rest of the world on fashion design and to attract the attention of the world’s leading fashion press and buyers to Istanbul.
I worked with Umit Unal and he has credit note for refund to me because he sent damaged product to me.
I requested him several time to refund it but he denied it for the financial insolvency problem.
But I found that he has a show in Turkey and invited one of my friends sending him a flight ticket.
What I am angry about is not money but his unethical behavior. I studied with a few turkish in MBA and I didn’t have any feeling about them.
But now, I am about to feel something because of him.
In order to get your designers established in other country, the good image is primary thing because fashion is image business.
I think this kind of unethical behavior is detrimental to turkish fashion industry as well.
Before getting your fashion industry established, you should gain more ethical standard on trade.
