OSCAR LEON ANSWERS FASHIONREPORTERS’ SEVEN QUESTIONS INTERVIEW

BARCELONA August 16, 2008 - The name of the  fashion brand is Oscarleon all attached, but the designer’s ID behind it is Oscar Leon. Two words that are already famous in Barcelona (Spain), since this young designer has already shown several times at the now extinct Pasarela Gaudi.

For the first edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion in March this year, he was only taking part in the showroom. But with the second  edition of the event for creative fashion designers organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya in Barcelona (Spain) in September, Oscarleon has a timeslot in the calendar of runway shows and his famous black and white designs should be back on the catwalk.

Moreover, the Catalan designer is also taking part in the event for the Spring-Summer 2009 season with his «Trash Lifestyle » video  project, a presentation in a new video format with the scope of  helping the children who are victims poverty and sexual exploitation in Cambodia.
Before his creations go on the runway on September 4 , he has answered FashionReporters’ Seven Questions Interview.

What is fashion for?

Fashion is a way of expressing sensations, emotions and feelings. It’s a valve to escape interior fears and frights.

If you were not a fashion designer, what would you be?

A fashion designer. There is no other option.

What are you proud of?

Of having created “Trash Lifestyle”.

What are you ashamed of ?

Of no longer protesting against the unfair treatment which designers from our country have to face.

If you could keep just one garment or accessory, which one would you pick?

A blouson jacket of black nylon, made in shape memory fabric.

What do you no longer believe in?

I do not believe in the possibility of  using child labor or of having sex with children, while other children are fortunate enough to be kept afar from all this. It depends on fate: life is either black or white.

What do you still believe in?

In people.
