DKNY Celebrates New York on Fashion’s Night Out

NEW YORK, Aug 18, 2011/ — With two tickets to the September 15th American Express Resort 2011 DKNY fashion show at stake, guests at the DKNY Madison Avenue boutique on Thursday, September 8, 2011can enter-to-win the contest to get hold of those hard-to-come by fashion week tickets.

But, the contest is just the appetizer of the Fashion’s Night Out Event at DKNY. DKNY has exclusively obtained the first copies of the “Bill Cunningham New York” DVD two weeks before its release! Shoppers who spend $250 or more (at either DKNY Madison or DKNY Soho) will receive a copy of the DVD & a limited edition DKNY BCNY tote bag.

Also for Fashion’s Night Out, DKNY has partnered with style app Pose (http://pose.com). Guests from around the world who download (http://pose.com/d) the free Pose app to their iPhones, iPods, iPads and Android phones can snap pictures during DKNY’s FNO events & have their poses automatically uploaded to DKNY’s Facebook page (http://facebook.com/DKNY) by including #DKNYFNO in their message each time they share a look.

In the spirit of Bill Cunningham, DKNY’s street style photographers will be using Pose to snap pictures of guests that night. These images will appear in the second floor windows of the DKNY store on Madison Avenue, and on screens both inside and outside the store for guests to view.

DKNY tapped five real New Yorkers to interpret the Fall 2011 collection using their own personal style. SOMETHING NEW YORK on dkny.com features each forward-thinking Manhattanite’s story on fashion, career and life. For FNO, each New Yorker will be in attendance wearing one of the DKNY looks they created & on hand to assist shoppers with styling looks.

DKNY GUEST STYLISTS: Michelle Ricks (Fashion illustrator & photographer ); Tiffany Gong (The voice behind fashion & style blog, SIX SIX SICK, co-designer of the jewelry line, Triskaidekaphobia); Ellen Gustafson (Creator of 30 project and co-founder of the hugely successful FEED Projects ); Will Rabbe (As a filmmaker, journalist & now a Producer at NBC, William’s work focuses on American politics and history) and Jeff Laub (Co-founder of The Blind Barber, a barbershop and speakeasy ).

BLIND BARBER FOR DKNY

DKNY is partnering with Blind Barber to bring their speak-easy barber shop to life in the DKNY men’s floor – giving complimentary haircuts and shaves to attendees.

DJ’s – The evening’s DJs, Dash Speaks & Omri S. Quire, will also be provided by Blind Barber

Refreshments – Brooklyn Lager is providing beer & fresh popcorn will be served in DKNY BCNY popcorn bags.
