Farah Angsana Spring 2012

NEW YORK Sept 25, 2011 /FW/-Asia’s cherry blossoms and all it’s finery inspired Farah Angsana for  Spring 2012. This season we gathered inside Lincoln Center to be part of a presentation that featured Farah’s latest cocktail and evening collection. The room was filled with an array of red’s,vibrant berry tones and blue with soft neutrals in white and champagne. The collection focused on presenting cultural elements in a very modern and elegant manner. Farah’s handcrafted embroideries put the special charm into each gown.

Off the shoulder cocktail dresses were trimmed in bands of sequences and also found on sleeve details. Hand sewn organza flower petals fell upon chiffon caplets and skirts of ballroom gowns. Intricate beading delicately enhanced draped mermaid gowns and stole our hearts on bodices and caftans. Ostrich feathers for spring! White  glamorous feathers were on mini cocktail skirts and short sleeves of crystal embellished gowns.

Kimono jackets play an important role in this collection. Traditional wrapping methods were eliminated for the wearabilty of today women. These jackets were full of dazzling embellishments and worn with open slit skirts. Farah’s kimono’s would make a wonderful option for this spring key novelty item.
