The Fall 2012 European men’s shows are underway in Florence at PITTI UOMO. A number of noteworthy items have already made multiple appearances. The metallic cap toe was first spotted on both a lace-up oxford and a boot at Grenson, a design leader in the very traditional world of English shoemaking. It’s a slightly subversive, chic formal shoe for a daring guy, and also a denim-friendly basic with some extra kick. The kaleidoscopic cut-outs are a tribute to the deco aesthetic of the Busby Berkley film “Gold Diggers of 1933.”
