DALLAS, Jun 4, 2012/ — At the recently concluded 65th Cannes Film Festival, it’s not just about the dress; it’s also about the bling. Two beauties – Irina Shayk and Andie MacDowell showed that being a glitterati actually also means wearing the glitter.
Russian model Irina Shayk is known for her 2007 – 2012 appearances on Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues, wherein she was the cover girl on 2011. Yet, the 5 ft 10 inches (1.78 meters) stunner still believed in enhancing her beauty with jewelry.
Showing off 45 carats yellow diamond set in the de Grisogono style amongst yellow diamonds and emeralds and finishing the look with one-of-a-kind yellow and white briolettes diamonds earrings, Irina lounged at the poolside of Hotel Martinez in Cannes.
Meanwhile, on the red carpet, movie star and model Andie MacDowell looked heavenly in a white strapless gown that she accessorized with Sahara bracelet and the San Lorenzo earrings both in white gold and diamonds from Damiani.
Two models, a generation apart. Andie MacDowell, 54, started headlining print and TV ads for L’Oréal in 1986 when Irina Shayk, 26, was barely 2 years old. In Cannes, both of them glittered, due to their innate beauty and the jewelry they are wearing.
In short, no matter what age you are, wearing jewelry is encouraged and sometimes, even a must if what famed Olympic top skater and film actress Sonja Henie (1912 – 1969) still partly holds true, “Jewelry takes people’s minds off your wrinkles.”
