Kimera to sing on Lie Sang Bong’s Runway Show

PARIS, Feb 20, 2008 /FR/ — Korean designer Lie Sang Bong, who has been showing his collections to the international press, buyers and fans in Paris for several years now, is preparing a big surprise for his fall-winter 2008/2009 collection, presented in the City of Lights on Sunday, February 24.

Kimera, the popstar of the 1980s and blazing rebel of opera, who created a new music genre which she named “popera”, will be gracing the fashion designer’s finale with her presence and a song from her new album. The legendary Korean princess and star had decided to leave the limelight after her daughter had been kidnapped. She has been recently preparing a new album and is coming back in the spotlight on the catwalk of Lie Sang Bong.

Living in Marbella (Spain) for years, Kimera has declared that she had decided to stop singing at the request of her daughter. She is also singing again now at the request of her daughter, with her new album “Caruso”.

The singer, who still has kept her Korean citizenship, although she has been living in Spain for years now, has accepted with pleasure to support Lie Sang Bong, a Korean native, who, like the female popstar, has been quickly getting international recognition from Paris: a support coming from a true princess, who is a direct descendant of Korean King Kyungsoon!

The very invitation sent by the Lie Sang Bong press office for the show, consisting of a see-through soft card containing deep  blue and purple fluids sparkling with silver dust, is very reminiscent of the aesthetics of Kimera, who is famous for her  glittering make-up and  contemporary reinterpretations of Korean traditional “hanbok” in her stage costumes.

Lie Sang Bong , who has been designing resolutely contemporary creations often based on his Asian heritage in previous seasons , might well have taken Kimera as his muse for the collection he will send on the runway next Sunday. She could also be his talisman for success in Paris, as this is the city in which the Korean diva has studied music and instantly made a best-selling hit with the launch of her first album.
